OFCCP Grants Limited Exemption for New Hurricane Irma Relief Effort Contracts

On September 7, 2017, the United States Department of Labor (DOL) Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) granted a limited exemption and waiver to new contracting agencies for covered contracts entered into solely to provide Hurricane Irma relief. The OFCCP waiver removes the requirement for the contractor to develop written affirmative action programs otherwise required under the following laws:

  • Executive Order 11246 (EO11246)
  • Section 4212 of the Vietnam Era Veterans’ Readjustment Assistance Act (VEVRAA)
  • Section 503 of the Rehabilitation Act

The waiver is effective September 8, 2017 – December 8, 2017, and is subject to extension should circumstances require.
