White House Fact Sheet: Act Now to Protect Against Potential Cyberattacks
Citing evolving intelligence that Russia may be exploring options for cyberattacks against the U.S., the Biden Administration has released “Act Now to Protect Against Potential Cyberattacks,” a fact sheet with protective steps companies should take, including:
- Multi-factor authentication
- Deploying modern security tools on computers and devices
- Check with cybersecurity professionals to make sure your systems are patched and protected against all known vulnerabilities
- Back up your data and ensure you have offline, secured backups
- Run exercises of emergency plans
- Encrypt your data
- Educate your employees about common tactics of attackers
- Encourage your IT/Security leadership to visit the websites of CISA and the FBI for information and resources.
