The best time to implement a cybersecurity program? Before you need it — which is often easier said than done. As one of the featured speakers at BSides Hawaii on March 4 at the Hawaii Prince Hotel, ES&A Director and Attorney Sam Sneed will talk about “Getting a Hand on the Helm: How to Make Your Case to Leadership on Cybersecurity,” and how to clear some of the hurdles that may be in your way. Topics include: the landscape of competing regulators; case studies in breach response (or nonresponse); developments in the law on cybersecurity and fiduciary duties to ensure it; and practical advice for tapping your company’s internal resources.
BSides is a community-driven framework for organizing information security conferences, a concept that began in the U.S. in 2009 and has since gone global. The BSides format offers a smaller, more intimate networking environment than the traditional conference, with built-in time for breakout discussions.
