The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) has published updated FAQs providing guidance on work-related COVID-19 cases, including how to calculate reporting deadlines for:
Hospitalizations: If an employee is hospitalized with COVID-19 due to exposure to the virus in the workplace, the employer must report the hospitalization to OSHA within 24 hours.
Fatalities: If an employee’s death from COVID-19 occurs within 30 days of that employee’s exposure to the virus in the workplace, the employer must report that death to OSHA within 8 hours.
