DLIR Offers SIDES Online Unemployment Insurance Tools for Employers

The State of Hawaii Department of Labor and Industrial Relations (DLIR), in partnership with the National Association of State Workforce Agencies and the U.S. Department of Labor have implemented the State Information Data Exchange System (SIDES), a web-based system that enables employers to quickly receive and respond to unemployment insurance (UI) claims. SIDES is available in two formats:

• SIDES E-Response for employers with a limited number of UI claims. This no-software-required system allows employers to receive and respond to requests for information electronically.
• SIDES System Integration for Third Party Administrators (TPA) or Professional Employer Organizations (PEO) that deal with large volumes of UI claims, or multi-state employers. Requires the use of web services.
