On June 24, 2023, the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) will dispose of E-Verify records that are more than 10 years old, which are those last updated on or before Dec. 31, 2012. In order to retain information about cases that are more than 10 Years old, E-Verify users must download the information by June 23, 2023. E-Verify requires employers to record or print and file the E-Verify case number for each corresponding Form I-9 Employment Eligibility Verification, which must be completed by employers for each individual they hire for employment in the U.S. Employers may also retain the Historic Records Report with the corresponding Forms I-9.
