DLIR and HIOSH Encourage Employers to Attend PacRim Safety and Health Conference, Oct. 29-30

The State of Hawaii Department of Labor and Industrial Relations (DLIR) and its Hawaii Occupational Safety and Health division (HIOSH) encourage employers to attend the 17^th Biennial Pacific Rim Safety and Health Conference, presented by the American Society of Safety Professionals (ASSP), Hawaii Chapter, and sponsored by the Safety Intelligence Institute. The theme of the 2-day conference is “Chasing Excellence,” and will feature keynote speeches on safety leadership as well as 26 workshops/breakout sessions, including:

• The importance of psychological safety and the impact of supervisor communication skills
• Building a safety culture
• Total worker health programs
• Fleet risk management
• How to make your own safety movies
