How do you navigate the Bermuda Triangle? That is, problematic leave of absence situations that involve workers compensation, Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), and Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). In a recent webinar, Anna Elento-Sneed discussed this and other “Leaves of Absence” issues including Hawaii Family Leave, leave for pregnancy, USERRA, leave for jury duty, and victim’s leave, as well as contractual leaves. The webinar also offered management tips on how to analyze current leave policies, prepare written summaries, regularly monitor usage, and develop checklists for common scenarios.
