The Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) has published the 2021 Annual VEVRAA benchmark of 5.6%, effective March 31, 2021, in the VEVRAA Benchmark Database. Federal contractors who are required by the Vietnam Era Veterans’ Readjustment Assistance Act (VEVRAA) to develop a written Affirmative Action Program (AAP) must also establish a hiring benchmark for veterans every year or adopt the national benchmark provided by the OFCCP, as part of their AAP update. National and state information for contractors who calculate an individualized hiring benchmark has also been updated in the database.
Employers with federal contracts or subcontracts of $100,000 or more must comply with VEVRAA, which prohibits employment discrimination against protected veterans. For more information, see the OFCCP’s VEVRAA information page.
