“AI & Inclusive Hiring Framework” Helps Employers Increase Accessibility for Disabled Job-Seekers

 The U.S. Department of Labor (USDOL) announced the publication of a new tool designed to make employers’ AI-enabled hiring tools more inclusive and accessible to disabled job seekers. The “AI & Inclusive Hiring Framework” was published by the Partnership on Employment & Accessible Technology (PEAT) and funded by the USDOL’s Office of Disability Employment Policy (ODEP). The initiative will help employers reduce the risks of creating unintentional forms of discrimination for disabled workers and job applicants. The framework is based on the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) AI Risk Management Framework and includes NIST’s best practices for inclusive hiring. It has 10 focus areas:
