The Office of Federal Contract Compliance (OFCCP) has updated its VEVRAA Hiring Benchmark Database. Effective March 31, 2023, the national VEVRAA hiring benchmark is 5.4%. Federal contractors who are required by the Vietnam Era Veterans’ Readjustment Assistance Act (VEVRAA) to develop a written Affirmative Action Program (AAP) must also establish a hiring benchmark for veterans every year, or adopt the national benchmark provided by the OFCCP, as part of their AAP update. State information for contractors who calculate an individualized hiring benchmark has also been updated in the database. Employers with federal contracts or subcontracts of $150,000 or more must comply with VEVRAA, which prohibits employment discrimination against protected veterans.
